For a good long while now, I’ve been considering getting into juicing. I hear it from everyone – “Juicing is so awesome,” “Juicing provides more vitamins than actual vitamins!” and “OMG SO much better than store bought!” After a while, I was kinda wondering what all the hype was about. So, I started researching. If you’re like me and don’t know the first thing about which juicer is better, here’s a great breakdown from Foodmatter.tv that really helped me understand why cold press juicers are awesome…
So what’s the deal with centrifugal v.s. cold press juicers? Basically, it comes down to what you want to do with it and your lifestyle. If you want a fast juicer that’s also less expensive, centrifugal is the way to go. If you’re going to add leafy greens like kale, sprouts or herbs, then you’re going to want the cold press. Cold press juicers are more expensive, however. Plus side to cold press? You’ll also be making a lot more juice (saving in the long run as you won’t have to buy more ingredients to make more juice) and you’ll retain a lot more of the enzymes due to the way the juice is made.
Want see the two juicers in action before deciding? I don’t blame you! Here’s a video:
